Thank you for your interest in Alternative Bridges. We look forward to helping you grow mentally, physically and spiritually. Here are some of the questions our clients and prospective clients frequently ask. If you have other questions, please feel free to contact us at (352) 292-8273.
How long should I expect to be in therapy?
Your journey and life story is unique, and our approach to treatment considers you as an individual. Therefore, therapy can last from several months to several years. Our goal is to help you establish stability, starting out with weekly sessions, then moving to bi-weekly and eventually monthly sessions.
How do I know if I am ready for counseling?
It’s simple. Does your life feel unmanageable? Are you ready for change? Are you ready and willing to accept guidance? If you answer yes to these questions, the time is right to begin counselling.
What is the counselling process like? What can I expect?
We begin the counselling process with a friendly and informal conversation. The goal of the first meeting is to become acquainted, and it allows your therapist to develop an initial assessment. Before beginning regular sessions, it’s important to make sure we have a good rapport and a foundation for a good relationship.
Will I need to take medication? Can I stop taking medication?
As a Licensed Mental Health Counseling practice, we do not prescribe medications. If you have a current psychiatrist, we recommend you continue to follow their prescribed medication regimen. If it appears that medication may be helpful, we can provide you with a referral to a medical professional.
Is counselling confidential?
Yes, your counseling is strictly confidential. As a Licensed Mental Health Counseling practice, we adhere to HIPAA regulations. We consider it an honor to hear your story, and confidentiality is extremely important to create and maintain a safe place.
What is the cost? Do you accept insurance?
We believe it’s important that mental health counseling is affordable and accessible. The average cost per session is $80 to $150, and we do offer a sliding scale based on financial need. We do accept E4 Health insurance, as well as major credit cards.
